Service Number 103207. Originally enlisted with the 67th Battalion C.E.F.
St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, France. Age 26
Son of William and A. Victoria Endicott, Chilliwack, B.C.

A printer by trade, J.A. Endicott was born at Pilot Mountain, Manitoba May 8, 1892. The honour roll of the 104th Regiment would feature a number of Chilliwack casualties including James Endicott. He served with the Nanaimo detachment of the 104th Regiment on home defence duties. He failed the medical for active service on several occasions until he was accepted by the 67th Battalion, (The Western Scots) Battalion, C.E.F. in Victoria where he played the coronet in the regimental band. When the 67th was disbanded he joined another "pioneer" unit, the 124th, until he was transferred to the Canadian Engineers. He died at Rouen, France from bronchial pneumonia. In Chilliwack, he worked for the Chilliwack Progress.

Son of John Ennis Jr. and Margaret Ennis, Rosedale, B.C.

Percy Ennis was one of five sons born to the Ennis family and he was born in Rosedale, B.C. March 7, 1897. Not only was he a farmer but he found time to serve with the 104th Regiment.

“Percy”, as he was known, joined the 131st Battalion C.E.F. with three other Rosedale men including Secord Stevenson, Warren Cameron and John J. Love. He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery.

Service Number 911814. Originally enlisted with the 196th Battalion C.E.F.
Vimy Memorial, France. Age 19
Son of Charles H. and Maria Evans, Sardis, B.C.

Born in Chilliwack in 1898 G.A. Evans was a student when he enlisted in the C.E.F. Only 19 years old when he was reported missing in action, May 6, 1917, with the 46th Battalion. A memorial service was held for several fallen Sardis soldiers, including Private Evans, at Carman Church, Sardis, October 21, 1917.
