The Great War

This map locates the addresses of Chilliwack men who died in the Great War. Because many men listed on their attestation papers only their general area of residence rather than specific addresses, tracing and finding their exact addresses in 1914 entailed much research. Ultimately, newspaper records, burial records, biographical files, local histories, property records, and tax records yielded 60 exact addresses in the Chilliwack area. Please click on a name (find the icon box inside the map -upper left) that interests you to find out more about those who fought for Canada in the Great War.
