Opening Reception | Our Journey for Inclusion: 70 Years of Innovation

The evening will begin with a short program in the Chambers Gallery at the Chilliwack Museum before guests proceed to the downstairs gallery to explore the exhibition at their own pace.
Catering for this event will be provided by Cookie’s Grill. Wine, beer, and non-alcoholic items will be available.
Developed in partnership with Chilliwack Society for Community Living (CSCL) and Inclusion BC, this exhibition commemorates CSCL’s 70th anniversary, and examines the history of institutionalization of individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in British Columbia, while highlighting stories about the ongoing journey towards inclusion and access in Chilliwack.
This exhibition will also feature community-submitted artworks relating to the theme of “Wholeness,” the principle that people with diverse abilities are whole and valued, and the importance of embracing disability as a part of a person’s identity and a source of empowerment.
