Call for Submissions

The Chilliwack Museum and Archives is seeking creative pieces to display in our 5th Annual Community Art Show from October 17, 2024, to January 18, 2025.
The exhibition will open on October 17, 2024, in support of Culture Days. Culture Days is an annual national celebration of arts, culture, and creativity.
Chilliwack Community members of any age, working in any medium, are welcome to submit their artwork. Work must be dropped off at the Chilliwack Museum with the submission form and media release by September 28, 2024. Both forms must be completed to participate and are available at the Museum or online at chilliwackmuseum.ca.
Submissions must meet the following six requirements: (check off each item)
- Artists may submit up to three pieces, and expect to see at least one piece included in the exhibition. Additional works selected will be dependent on total submissions and display space.
- Artwork must be accompanied by a completed submission form and signed media release.
- All submissions must be labeled legibly with the full name of the artist and title of the artwork. An artist signature is not sufficient.
- Wall mounted artworks (photographs, drawings, canvases, etc.) must be submitted with a proper hanging mechanism; with “D” hooks and a picture wire.
- Submissions are limited to 60cm x 60cm. Oversized submissions will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are dependent on available space.
- Submissions may be of any medium including, but not limited to: collage, print-making, sculpture, textiles, ceramics, painting, drawing, photography, etc.
Late or incomplete submissions will be not be accepted.
The Chilliwack Museum and Archives reserves the right to refuse pieces based on size, medium, and content. Pieces that are not chosen for display must be picked up immediately.
The Chilliwack Museum and Archives is not responsible for storing packing materials and storage containers. These materials must be taken with the artist at the time of drop off, and brought back for pick up if required.
Pieces cannot be removed from the Museum until the exhibition has closed and de-installation is complete. Submissions must be picked up between January 27 and February 1, 2025. Artwork that has not been collected by the deadline will become the property of the Chilliwack Museum and Archives and may be disposed of.
